Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa – Subclass 491
Subclass 491 allows skilled workers to live, work and study in designated regional areas of Australia for 5 years. After meeting income and residency requirements for 3 years, you may apply for permanent residency. Invitation to apply is required.

Eligibility Criteria
- Nomination by state/territory OR sponsorship by eligible relative
- Under 45 years of age
- Suitable skills assessment (not older than 3 years)
- Occupation listed on Skilled Occupation List
- Competent English
- Minimum 65 points in SkillSelect
- Meet health & character requirements (including family members 16+)
Extended Stay & PR Pathway
Subclass 491 is valid for 5 years with full travel rights. After 3 years of meeting income and regional residency conditions, you may apply for permanent residency in Australia.
