Skills In Demand (SID) Visa – Subclass 482
The Skills In Demand (SID) Subclass 482 Visa allows Australian employers to sponsor overseas skilled workers when suitable local talent is not available. This visa enables eligible applicants to live and work in Australia temporarily.
There are 3 main streams under the Skills In Demand (SID) visa:
- Core Skills Stream
- Specialist Skills Stream
- Labour Agreement Stream
Holders of this visa can stay in Australia for upto 4 years. (5 years for Hong Kong passport holders)
- Main applicant: AUD 3,210
- Secondary applicant over 18: AUD 3,210 Secondary applicant under 18: AUD 805
- Additional costs may apply (health checks, police checks, biometrics, English test)
- Occupation must be on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL)
- Qualifciation and 1 year work experience
- English language requirements (unless exempt)
- Skills Assessment may be required
Holders of this visa can stay in Australia for upto 4 years. (5 years for Hong Kong passport holders)
- Main applicant: AUD 3,210
- Secondary applicant over 18: AUD 3,210 Secondary applicant under 18: AUD 805
- Additional costs may apply (health checks, police checks, biometrics, English test)
- Occupation must be listed in ANZSCO Major Groups 1 - 6
- Qualifciation and 1 year work experience
- Skills Assessment may be required
- English language requirements (unless exempt)
The Labour Agreement Stream is for applicants sponsored by employers who have an approved Labour Agreement with the Australian Government. Holders of this visa can stay in Australia for upto 4 years. (5 years for Hong Kong passport holders)
- Main applicant: AUD 3,210
- Secondary applicant over 18: AUD 3,210 Secondary applicant under 18: AUD 805
- Additional charges may apply (English test, health checks, police checks, biometrics)
- Nomination under Labour Agreement terms
- Qualifciation and 1 year work experience
- Meet English language requirements (unless exempt)
The Subsequent Entrant Stream is for partners or dependent family members of Subclass 482 or 457 visa holders. Eligible applicants can live, work and study in Australia for the remaining duration of the primary visa holder’s visa.
- Must be a partner or dependent of the primary visa holder
- Sponsor must agree in writing to include you in nomination
- Adequate health insurance is required
- Must meet health and character requirements
- Secondary applicant over 18: AUD 3,210 Secondary applicant under 18: AUD 805
