Skilled Independent 189 Visa
This visa is for applicants who have a positive skills assessment in an occupation which is on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations for the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) Point-Tested stream and also can achieve 65 or more points. Applicants do not need to be sponsored by the State/Territory or Family Members. However, applicants must be invited via Skillselect to be eligible to apply for this visa. It allows visa holders to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident.
Skilled Nominated 190 Visa
This is a permanent visa and is only available for applicants who are nominated by a state or territory government of Australia. It allows you to live and work anywhere in the nominating state in Australia as a permanent resident. This visa is for applicants who have a positive skills assessment in an occupation which is on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations for the 190 visa and also can achieve a minimum of 60 points. A nomination by the state/territory will automatically add 5 more points to the points tally of the applicants.
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) 491 Visa
Applicants must be nominated by a State/Territory or sponsored by an eligible family member to qualify for this visa. This visa is for applicants who have a positive skills assessment in an occupation which is on the relevant list of eligible skilled occupations for the 190 visa and also can achieve a minimum of 50 points. A nomination by the state/territory will automatically add 15 more points to the points tally of the applicants.
This visa allows you to remain in Australia for 5 years. You can live, work and study in a designated regional area of Australia. Holders of this visa can apply for the Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa (subclass 191) if they had complied with the conditions of their 491 visa and one of the applicant earned a taxable income which is not less than the specified income threshold for each of the 3 years.
